tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born on 27 February 1976 in Torrance, California. He was raised in the southern part of California and was a student at Huntington Beach High School, which was where he excelled as a player on both the basketball and football teams. Gonzalez excelled at these sports at University of California, Berkeley. He was the team's football coach to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. Here, Gonzalez broke the school bowl record of nine receptions. In the following months, Gonzalez was the team's basketball coach to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. Gonzalez was selected to the NFL Draft in 1997. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th overall pick. Gonzalez was a player with the Chiefs from 1997 to the year 2008. The Chiefs sold Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. In Gonzalez's second NFL season, he completed more than 59 passes per season.
