Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American producer stage and screen actress, best known for her film roles as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in African-American Studies at Brown University as well as a Masters in Fine Arts in Acting at the Tisch School for the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer who is active in the fields of theater, film as well as television. She started her career as an actress in theatre before going on to appear in many television series, mainstream and independent films. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw, a character who appeared on ABC's Quantico. On BET's massive series The Book of Negroes she was a character. Not only did she get praise from critics for her character, she also received a few awards and nominations. In 1995 she made her acting debut in The Tempest as Ariel. Alongside Broadway's Come and Gone, she has also been featured in Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. In the film industry, she's best known for roles such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. For her work on television she has been praised for her performance as the regular character in ABC's police drama High Incident.
